1. Why Outsource Software Development Projects?
There are many reasons why corporations choose to outsource software development projects. To name just a few, incentives to outsource include lack of skilled IT professionals or industry knowledge, reduced costs, the ability to free up internal resources and speed of delivery.

2. Why should I outsource when I can recruit? The following quote from Bill Gates from an April 1999 issue of Time magazine explains:

"As a business manager, you need to take a hard look at your core competencies. Revisit the areas of your company that aren't directly involved in those competencies, and consider whether Web technologies can enable you to spin off those tasks. Let another company take over the management responsibilities for that work, and use modern communication technology to work closely with the people - now partners instead of employees are doing the work. In the Web work style, employees can push the freedom the Web provides to its limits."

3. Is CDD a temp service?
CDD is not a body shop or a temp agency. We don't just provide you with a developer, we provide you with a team with industry knowledge and the competencies required to fulfill your development requirements. Our services are project based and clients only pay for the work delivered. When the project is over, there are no HR issues to deal with.

4. Is communication a problem?
Technology has reached a stage where traditional barriers no longer apply. In recent times, communication improvements have reduced the cost involved in offshore developments drastically. It is now easy and inexpensive to exchange data, voice, and video over secure links. Availability of powerful computer systems and the Internet have made offshore developments practical and economical.

If necessary, personal visits can be made either to the client site or to the CDD office during the execution of the project.

5. What is the level of fluency in English?

6. Will CDD come to our Site?
Where applicable, CDD consultants will perform analysis activities at your site. Account Managers will communicate with their clients regularly; however, all development is done off site. If requested, as part of the project, development staff will come to your site in order to hold meetings, give training or answer questions. The implementation phase of a project typically involves a software engineer being on site.

7. What level of savings can I expect from outsourcing to CDD?

We can save companies around 50% of the costs of hiring personnel and even more if the solution was to use contractors. You wind up with all the normal outsourcing benefits of no continuing personnel cost obligation at a much lower cost.

8. How Can I Monitor Performance and Productivity?
Reporting systems are tailored to meet individual client requirements. Typically, periodical reports contain information about completed tasks, planned tasks, issues, risk management and questions for the client. For time and materials projects, additional reporting would normally include cost to date, cost to completion and time to completion. As an example, using the capabilities of the Internet, facilities can be provided to facilitate online interactive design, progress reporting and source deliveries at milestones.
