Scientific Applications: DIPOL

The Client. Institute for Single Crystals

The Problem: Motions of a dot electric dipole in a nonuniform electric field. The field is included at regular intervals and represents d-impulses. The plane problem is considered, that is the dipole rotates in a plane of inhomogeneity of a field. The inhomogeneity of a field is a sine curve.

The Solution: The phase map was obtained as a result of analytical approach the motion equations representing recursion discrete mapping in 4-dimentional-phase space.
The mathematical model of the given system is actualized in the DIPOL code. Foremost, phase map, Lyapunov's power and other performances useful for research of system were constructed.
The application is written in language C ++. The environment of development is Visual Studio 6.0. It represents MDI document as the split screen. On each of panel the two-dimensional projections of a phase portrait to the relevant two-dimensional planes are figured. The starting conditions of trajectories are set or by means of directly input of numerical values, or by means of the mouse, directly on a phase portrait. Other performances and diagrams are called from the menu.
As a result of examinations was found out, that at particular values of parameters the system becomes chaotic.
